Saving the World from the Same Fate as Tasmania

Jacqui and the Think Tank come up with a strategy for the Paris Climate Summit on how to take action on climate change without condemning the world to the same fate as Tasmania.
The story starts here...

Jacqui Lambie Think Tank masthead

Nazel Hare, Randy Mayle and Prof. Penny Wise were delighted by the prospect of a Christmas Think Tank meeting at Glad’s Tea Rooms in anticipation generous helpings of Glad’s scrummy mince pies and turkey rissoles.

“Now Jacqui have you decided what Chrissie present you’re giving to Clive?” asked Nazel

“In view of his current cash crisis’ said Jacqui “I propose to help by arranging a special Clive Fundraising Day in Burnie”

“How much does he stand to gain?” asked Randy

“As I’m buying him a Jenny Craig membership with the proceeds” replied Jacqui “it’s rather a question of how much he stands to lose. Now the purpose of this meeting is to frame a climate change policy for submission to the Paris Climate Summit. What’s your view Nazel because I know this issue is one of your particular concerns?”

“My oath” replied Nazel “those Green grotbags have wrecked the Tassie economy. We should warn the Summit against doing anything even half as barking as Bob Brown and Christine Milne”

“On the other hand” said Randy “I’ve found there’s a lot to be gained by introducing young ladies to the benefits of biodiversity in the Tarkine”

“It’s undeniable” said Penny “that the world would be a better place without fossil fuels and without the Greens constantly carping on about them and Australia is potentially a great source of renewable alternatives”

“I know” said Jacqui ‘Clive breathes fire every time he sees me”

“I think we should recommend to the Summit” said Randy “that Green politicians should be banned. They’re just an environmental nuisance who merely repeat everything they hear on the ABC”

“The interesting thing about Tassie” remarked Penny “is that it’s a unique

example of what happens to a community when the Greens gain political influence”

“Very good point Penny” said Jacqui “so what conclusions should we pass on to Paris?”

“We should make it clear to them” said Penny “that if they plan to impose the same Green policies on the world that have been applied to Tassie it’s vital to make sure that somebody else is raising the GST to pay for it”

“Brilliant thinking” said Jacqui “but who could come up with a plan like that?”

‘Well” replied Penny “Malcolm will be at the Summit and the chances are that he and Scott Morrison will have already formulated the GST plan to fund the Tassie economy. So then all they have to do is apply it to the world”
