The Weak in Politics

Weak in Politics on Friday 28th August 2015
Heard down the Canberra corridors of power
“What’s your view of Tony’s latest policy on gay marriage?”
“It reminds me of a shotgun wedding”
Heard at Labor Party HQ
“Why are the unions so concerned about the Royal Commission?”
“People are getting them confused with the Catholic Church”
I want to be absolutely clear about this
Would the Catholic Church be more amenable to gay marriage if they understood that it doesn’t involve contraception?
Heard down the Canberra corridors of power
“I understand Bill Shorten has stood for something at last”
“Yes he wanted to stretch his legs”
Heard in the Treasury
“So what do you believe is the most realistic way back to a budget surplus?”
“Politicians spending as much time fundraising for the country as they do for the party”
Heard at Liberal Party HQ
“How do you think Tony is going overall?”
“Well he is convinced his cup still runneth over but it looks like a spill to me”
Heard in a public bar
“What are the chances of Bill Shorten becoming a PM who can lead us down the path to national prosperity?”
“About the same as you shouting the next round”
