The role of satire is to reveal the humour in our daily lives and prevent them from becoming too serious.

Satire must avoid vulgarity, bad taste, pushing barrows and prejudice especially in relation to politics.

It should be cheeky, irreverent and outrageous but never in bad taste.

The best satire evolves from laughing with people rather than at them.

Satire which causes offence is almost certainly not true satire.

It is humour first and foremost. If views expressed in our work are judged to be informed or even wise we regard it as incidental or accidental.

Satire must be fun for the people who create it, consume it and are satirised by it.
