It has been brought to my attention there is a view around the Democratic Party that my support for Obama’s re-election in 2012 is not all it should be.

This is absolute nonsense.

It is true I remarked to someone recently that the country wouldn’t be in half the mess if Hillary had been elected in 2008 instead. This is no criticism of Obama but simply a recognition that I leave him for dead on economic matters and Hillary would naturally have benefited from my advice.

Logically speaking how could I not possibly support Obama when all he’s going to be up against is the only person in the country with a worse healthcare plan than his own or a two-bit sheriff from Texas who tried to shoot himself in the foot but missed and shot his mouth off instead.

I just can’t help feeling that the country would have been so much more itself with Hillary and I as president and Obama still doing community organising in Chicago. I understand he and the Rev Wright were pretty good at it.

Many people have questioned by Hillary didn’t challenge Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2012. Well the fact is she would have carried a huge handicap into the campaign because try as I might I just can’t keep my mouth shut.

So vote for Obama in 2012. If I come up with a better idea in the meantime I’ll let you know.
